Bats!

Some new tenants have moved into the Infant School.

As you may have noticed, over the summer, the Infants School has been getting a brand-new roof installed. However, recently the builders discovered a colony of pipistrelle bats roosting in the rafters. Bats are protected by law in the UK so work has had to pause for the time being until the bats vacate the area.

Not to miss a learning opportunity though, Mr Gill invited Lena from Hampshire Bat Group to talk to the children about how important bats are in nature. Lena is a licenced volunteer bat carer and she brought along two of her own pipistrelle bats (Bonnie and Clyde) for the children to meet!

We learnt so much about bats and everyone came away with a greater application of our tiny houseguests!
